India celebrates Teachers Day

India celebrates Teachers Day
So did CSI Wesley Church, Ramkote.

The greatest teacher of all time - Lord Jesus Christ !!!

"The Great Commission" in Matthew 28: 16 -20 16

Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Jesus gave us the Greatest commission and that is "teaching them to obey everything – verse 20".
Above all things, teaching should take a predominant role in our lives, and we should obey what our good Lord taught us.

Most of our second generation converted Christians in India are either Teachers or Nurses;

both noble profession indeed.

Some of you might be related directly or indirectly to a teacher. My mother was a teacher, and I did learn lot of good things from her.

India has a rich culture of Guru Vs Shishya tradition, a kind of respect towards teachers, which we hardly find today, I am sure you all still remember most of your school teachers till date, the way you use to prank around, and be part of those Mischief mongers and the punishments you received in hot sun outside the class.

Those nostalgic moments you always cherish, it is hard to resist going down that school memory lane. Some of us would really love to go back to school!!!!

As the saying goes "Guru devo bhava" - Teacher is God(correct me if I am wrong).

Coming back to church... a very well prepared sermon was delivered by Rev. Srinivas of ACTC.
The entire service was lead by teachers...and one of my teacher was Mrs. Kumudini Jonathan.

Rev. B. Winston our Presbyter –in charge motivated the teachers to set up food stalls, after the service. And pick of the day was 'chole' stall.

The proceedings will be donated for the New Church Construction. Our Sunday school beginners & primary students were shown a movie titled - "Miracles of Jesus Christ" on a LCD projector.
They enjoyed every bit of it.. and we hope to show them more interesting children Gospel movies.

1 Samuel 18:6 (New International Version)

6 When the men were returning home after David had killed the Philistine, the women came out from all the towns of Israel to meet King Saul with singing and dancing, with joyful songs and with tambourines and lutes.

Mr. Addanki Joseph s/o Mr. Addanki Eber has donated a beautiful guitar to Sunday school, so that we can glorify His name thru ourjoyful songs and music. Thanks Joseph. May God bless you. It was time for the last week exam results, Mr. Reddimalla Leonard(Vicky) s/o of Mr. Reddimalla Amar Jyothi has given donation towards gifts.
